The mission of the Yachats Academy of Arts & Sciences is to provide educational and entertainment opportunities for people on the central Oregon coast. Sponsored by Polly Plumb Productions, we encourage the residents of the village of Yachats, Oregon to work with Academy board members to organize those events that they judge to be most enjoyable.
A Cultural Journey: The Silk Road & Sulawesi

Travel the historic Silk Road used in trade with China, visiting five countries (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan) steeped in amazing architecture, religion, culture, history, and people. Follow up with a tour of Sulawesi, a remote island in Indonesia and visit a small coral island, climb a volcano, spend two days with a group of macaques, visit small villages and learn about very unusual burial practices.
